Tony Stewart, aka “Smoke” is one of NASCAR’s most recognizable drivers. Tony has some of the most dedicated fans in the sport of stock car racing. One of the reasons for being a fan favorite is his tendency to call things as he sees them. No need to wonder what Tony’s thinking, he’ll let it be known.
By looking at his numbers, it’s hard to dispute the fact that he’s been one of the most successful drivers since he entered the Cup series almost a decade ago. He’s at 35 wins and counting and has 2 Cup Championships under his belt as well. Tony formed Stewart-Haas Racing in late 2008 and wear’s the hat of both driver and owner. Not only does Tony have experience racing on dirt tracks, he’s also been successful on the Indy Racing League (IRL) circuit. With such a varied background Smoke is without a doubt one of the most respected drivers at the Cup level.
Tony started the Tony Stewart Foundation to help chronically ill children and is involved in numerous other charity events.
Love him or hate him, Tony is a driver that’s good for NASCAR.
