Love that era of NASCAR, of course that\'s the time I was a kid and got into the sport. It\'s the personality of the manufacturer\'s different cars that was fun. The personality today is gone with the common Car of Tomorrow. Probably why I like the new Nationwide cars so much is that they have just a bit of personality to them. http://raceconn.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/1123/size/big/cat/

Yeah, to me MY Golden Age was from around \'82 to \'89. Once NASCAR started down the slippery slope of allowing front drive production cars compete as rear drive silhoute racers, the concessions never stopped. I\'ll never forget the pit in my stomach when I heard that the Taurus was approved for competition. All those derisive comments from open wheelers about stock cars being \"taxi cabs\" had actually come true!!!! For me, with all due respect for the Ford Thunderbird, the last race for the old Monte Carlo SS was the last race of my favorite NASCAR era..... where the majority of the field was still based on production rear drive V8 powered coupes. Today.......eh! The cars that compete have so little to do with the product you & I might buy, who really cares.
