Panning is the only way to consistently get these types of zoom shots. I have lots of photos that are really nice that have a portion of the car chopped off or out of frame. I\'d also recommend NOT filling up the viewfinder on the zoom shots to ensure getting the entire car. During editing it\'s easy enough to then crop the photo to what you see above.
